Inhalt
Leon Bosch (Kontrabass) - Theodore Kuchar (Dir) // Born in Ukraine, de Hartmann, a student of both Arensky and Taneyev, achieved fame as a composer in Russia in the early 1900s, and his concert music was later played by some of the major musicians of the day, primarily in Paris. The Symphonie-Poème No.1 is a musical cousin of Rachmaninov´s 2nd Symphony and requires a huge orchestra. The Fantaisie-Concerto moves from tangy dissonance to a folk-inspired finale.
