Der 1990 geborene Pianist Elias Stemeseder ist in den letzten Jahren zu einem kreativen Epizentrum des zeitgenössischen Jazz geworden. Seit 2015 vorrangig in New York beheimatet, hat sich der gebürtige Österreicher in den verschiedensten avancierten Improvisationskontexten einen Namen gemacht. Bislang gab sich der Pianist damit zufrieden, als Sideman zu arbeiten, wobei all jene, denen seine Arbeit im Jim Black Trio bekannt ist, bereits wissen, dass er ein Musiker von bemerkenswertem Geschick, espür und Vorstellungsvermögen ist. Sein vielfältiges Spiel reicht von songorientiert über zeitgenössische klassische Stücke zu elektronischer Musik. Sein Entdeckergeist führt ihn in unterschiedliche musikalische Gefilde und dank seines grossen Einfühlungsverm.gens in das jeweilige musikalische Idiom besticht sein Klavierspiel stets mit Authentizität. Tief in der Tradition des Jazz verwurzelt und ausgestattet mit einer wagemutigen Experimentierlust profiliert er sich auf diesem Solo- Aals tiefgründiger Pianist mit einem souveränen Gestaltungswillen. Er ist ein erfindungsreicher Improvisator, dessen Spiel von Vielschichtigkeit und konzeptionellem Elan sprüht. Auf «Piano Solo» spielt Stemeseder gekonnt mit Strukturen und Stimmungen und präsentiert ein überraschungsreiches, unkalkulierbares und zugleich ideenpralles Album. ´´Stemeseder ist ein zutiefst reifer Musiker mit beständigem Sinn für innere Reflexion.
